The Regional Police Operation officer East Alfred Dasama has ensured residents in the Eastern Region that the area is calm and safe and there is no cause for alarm. He made this statement while talking to the press in Kenema city.

He said so many core criminals have been rounded up at various locations in the region. He pointed out the violation of the right of the girl child as one of the most frequently reported cases in the region. Mr. Dassama cited the stoning of their personnel’s conducting patrols at night in some areas within Kenema city and its environs as a serious concern to the police. He warned all and sundry to desist from such act adding that any one caught in such act will be handled according to the law of the state.
He called on the public to supply the police with vital information that will help maintain peace and tranquility in the community.  The Regional Coordinator of the Operational Support Division (OSD) at the Kenema Division Augustine Kailey disclosed that wild animals migrating from the borders of Liberia are attacking people in certain areas of Kailahun and Kenema districts. He says that as an institution responsible for providing security for the nation they have dispatched armed police personnel’s to the areas to stop animals from disturbing people. He revealed that some of these wild animals like bush cow have been tracked down by his squad in some parts of the region, he therefore called on the public to inform his office about the disturbances of such animals in the region.
