Police accused of Harassment along Gendema Highway

Drivers and passengers are now complaining of Police harassment at checkpoints from Bo to Gendema via Potoru and from the Kenema axis.
They further alleged that the numbers of checkpoints have increased and the Police officers are also demanding higher amounts of money as bribes.
Latest complaints come against the background of the high cost of living due to the depreciation of the Leone.  .
Speaking of their ordeal a number of  motorists said the increase cost of fare is as a result of extortion by traffic police personnel manning road blocks now put around ten, along the Bo routes.
