Swedish giant, AIK are ready to speak with Celtic over the signing of striker, Mohamed Poborsky Bangura on a permanent basis.
The Sierra Leonean striker, who moved to Glasgow from the Swedish side in August 2011, returned to his old side on loan in the summer after failing to find the net in 16 appearances in Scotland following several injury problems.
Bangura has scored three times in eight games for AIK and, with his temporary deal due to expire at the climax of their Europe League group stage campaign on December 6, the 23-year-old is wanted back at the Rasunda.
“Mohamed has a great history with our club,” AIK’s sporting director, Bjorn Wesstrom, was quoted by the Daily Record. “He is performing well so in the near future we will have a discussion with Celtic to see what their plans are for him. He’s a Celtic player and they have a mandate to do as they wish. But we’ll speak to them and will know how to proceed when we have done that.”
However, the Swedish outfit are wary of the financial situation that may involve in bring the player back to Sweden.
Wesstrom said: “Finances would be an issue. We are not even close to the same level as Celtic but we will see the outcome.”
