The National Publicity Secretary for the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) Mohamed Bangura who is presently the Coordinator for the Attitudinal and Behavioral Change (ABC) has declared his intention to run for the National Chairmanship of the PMDC party.
He made this disclosure at the Regional party headquarter at 19 Dama road in Kenema city. Mr. Bangura told his party supporters about the problems of PMDC and what they have intended to do as party supporters. He said they will continue to be good or bad until they match to state house.
He says it is good to give leadership to people who have a clean track record so that with their credibility they can be sold easily at national level. The Publicity Secretary did not hide his intention to serve as chairman not only for PMDC but also for the APC and SLPP if given the approval at the national convention during the first week of May this year.
Mohamed Bangura advised the party supporters not to sell their party for money and encouraged them to choose the right people for the right position and that if even he loses he will never leave the party for any other party but rather join the elected person.
He thanked the Sierra Leone Police for coming to his aid when his house was attacked by unknown attackers.
Bangura told the gathering that the people are accusing their leadership of being weak but they were able to send ten people to parliament during their last general and parliamentary elections.
A lot of people have gone out of the party and a lot have come into the party. They have come to change the political situation in the country so that there should not be only one or two parties but more parties in the country. Their aim now is to rule this country he said. Bangura explained that they went to the APC party to avoid problem in the country. At first the SLPP was annoyed but supported the APC to make a decision, you need to weigh the good and the bad of any action he said. Bangura disclosed that the PMDC did not join the ruling APC party for position but rather to bridge the regional gap and avert national catastrophe which was looming after the July election.
He called on all and sundry to judge him through his past position and give him the position he is asking for.
In his entourage were William Tucker acting secretary general, Tommy Kargbo National Organizing Secretary and Mohamed Turay currently Young Democrat chairman.
