The Petercalza Memorial Agricultural Secondary School Alikalia, in the Neine Chiefdom Koinadugu District, established since September 2007 is calling for assistance from government and other nongovernmental organization, even as the school has not yet been recognized by the government. Speaking with the principal of the School Joseph T. Kamara he noted that since the establishment of the school he has been trying a lot in order to promote the education in the community and the Country as a whole. He maintained that “education is the bed rock of development in any society”, reiterating that the teachers in the School are really trying to do their best in order to promote education in the community. The principal outline some of the difficulties affecting the School, in the areas of proper school building, lack of School materials, lack of trained and qualified teachers, and also the payment of the School Staff . Mr. Kamara ended by encouraging the government and all individual who is willing to promote education in the country to supports the school and to make sure that the school is recognize by the government of Sierra Leone. Sorie T. Kamara a pupil of the School explained that their teachers are doing well for them, he thanked the principal for been a good citizen of the country in order to support education regardless of money. Esther Koroma a female pupil of the School added that they are praying for the School to give them quality education with the help of the principal and the government as well.
Speaking with one of the teacher Mr. Marah says that the pupils are doing their best, though this will be their first time to send them for the BECE Exam.
He believed that the pupils will do well during the exams, emphasizing that he is willing to teach in the School no matter the situation. Some concerned residents in the community appealed to the government to seriously look at this matter as they believed that without education there will be no better development in the society and the Country at large
