‘Patriotic Sierra Leoneans’ a non-governmental organization was on Thursday January 5, 2012 launched at the Miatta conference hall with the theme “what it takes to be a Patriotic Sierra Leonean”.
The programme attracted several people including Parliamentarians, government officials, Ministers, people from the Diaspora and school children.
The President of the organization Mohamed Kamarainba gave the vision and objective of the organization.
He also stated that the organization is to build a better Sierra Leone.
He further stated that the country is suffering a lot and people are littering the country as there are many rubbish in the Streets of Freetown. He also said that the country will not progress if Sierra Leoneans fail to conduct themselves in a proper way.
Charlie Haffner the head of Freetong Players International gave a brief talk on Cultural Thinking on Patriotism. He also gave a brief explanation of what is culture.
On the topic ‘Adopt a road project’ the Guest Speaker Koso Thomas gave the audience an idea of different road projects that he has constructed and the cost it will entail.
Statements were made on the topic “the essence of peace during election” by Mrs. Maude Peacock and also Ms Nanette Thomas gave a brief talk on the topic “Attitudinal and Behavioural Change”.
The session was interactive as comments and questions came from the audience. The programme was launched by the Inspector General of Police Francis Munu after giving the keynote address.
He assured the people that the forth coming elections will be peaceful as he has demonstrated it during the past festive season.
He also said that they have put all mechanisms in place to make sure that the process is peaceful.
