The Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources through the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission (SLEWRC) has summoned the owners of 147 bottle and sachet water companies. SLEWRC Communications Manager, Ngozi Obi-Sesay said the owners have been summoned to a very important meeting at the Administrative Building, House of Parliament from Thursday 20th to Wednesday 26th August 2020 at 11.30 am.
She said the meeting is for water producers and the newly constituted Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources to meet and discuss some of the challenges faced by individual companies. “Proprietors and proprietresses are required to attend in person and must bring along all necessary documentation or proof of license to operate,” she said, and emphasised, “No representatives are allowed!”
According to a notice signed by SLEWRC Director General, Emmanuel Mannah: “Any person who fails to comply with these summons will be in contempt of Parliament.”
