Paragon Diamonds Limited, has announced that the company has made a total of US$599,392 from the sale of its parcel of diamonds and gold from its alluvial operations in Konoma Sierra Leone.
Some 2,035 carats of diamonds were sold for $522,275 which shows and average of $275 per carat. This parcel includes 114 carats of “special” stones which were sold for $191,500 or on the average for $1,680 per carat. Two of the “special” stones which have a combined weight of 46 carats were sold for $154,675 or an average of $3,362 per carat.
Also 1,800 grams of gold with 85% purity was sold in total for $77,117 or $1,511 per ounce.
Paragon Chairman Luc Huyghebaert said they were “pleased with this sale, which includes some very high value stones.” He added “We are currently focusing on indentifying higher grade areas in order to increase the yields we can achieve from these assets“.
