In continuation of its nationwide school feeding quest, Pee Cee and Sons has added another school to its nationwide feeding count. On Tuesday 3rd November, 850 pupils at the D. T. Akibo-Betts Primary School at Tower Hill were fed with the Padi food brand, and they also received take home packages of assorted Padi food items from Pee Cee and Sons.
The school’s Head Teacher, Mohamed Z Bangura expressed his appreciation and gratitude, noting that the initiative shows that the private sector is ready to boost quality education in the country. He noted that this type of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is very necessary and paramount especially at a time when parents are struggling to make ends meet.
“More parents are struggling to keep their kids in school. Some of these pupils are coming to school without having anything to eat, but today they have eaten something. In fact, they have not only eaten, Pee Cee and Sons have given our pupils food items as take home packages which will serve as a boost to some of their families.”
Marketing firm Mobicom’s Administrator Joanne Peters explained that the firm handles Padi’s branding and marketing for Pee Cee and Sons. She further said they have fed more than four schools as they continue with the nationwide feeding, adding that the school feeding will not only uplift the Padi food brand but also complement the government’s school feeding effort.
“We are feeding over 850 pupils, but we’ve catered for 1,000 people, which include pupils and teachers.
“Besides the feeding we are giving them take home packs, which contain the Padi seasoning, mayonnaise, tin tomato and spaghetti, and cocoa.”
She further added that in as much as they are complementing the government’s school feeding program, it is also their objective to let the public know that “Padi products are here; you do not have to look elsewhere. For quality food services Padi is the best food services for your kids, and if you are doing business, whatever you are doing, we just want to spread the word that Padi product is here for everyone.”
She also disclosed that “we are going to do it annually, and continue to do it because it’s like charity for us loving the kids and showing them love, and also helping those who come to school without lunch to hope that things will get better.”
