Magistrate Hannah Bonnie of the Principal Magistrate Court No.1 at Pademba road is currently investigating a timber matter of over Le100 million between Niner Dayekeh (Complainant) and Idrissa Yorpor (Accused). According to the Police Prosecutor, between the 18th September 2017 and 26th July 2018, at Fraser Street in Freetown, Idrissa Yorpor obtained the sum of Le101,340,000 from Niner Dayekeh for timber logs , which he failed to provide. He was charged with 18 related counts of obtaining money by false pretense contrary to Section 31 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916. On Thursday 9th January 2020, they appeared before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie in order to proceed with the matter. According to the statement of the complainant, she personally gave the accused Le94,880,000 to harvest and supply her with timbers. She explained that on the 25th September 2018 , she instructed her manager Angel Mansaray to give the accused Le3 million, after the accused told her that he had harvested some logs and needs transportation to carry the logs from the bush to the town. She said the aforementioned money was given to the accused in their office in Makeni. Magistrate Bonnie later granted the accused bail in the sum of Le 200 million and two sureties, who must own properties valued at Le 500 million each. The matter was adjourned to 21st January 2020
