The Old Edwardians football club has appointed a five man interim committee over the weekend at the Schools ground Kingtom, to mann the affairs of the club till further notice.
The decision was taken to form the committee because the new league season is about a month away and the five man committee will be able to put all modalities in place before the league kicks off.
The interim executive comprises of Osman Bai-Kargbo fan club chairman, Austin Thomas, Francis Kamara, Domonic Sesay and Bernard Turay.
According to Osman Bai-Kargbo the Old Boys Association headed by Dr. Dumbuya and the fan club took the decision because the former executive was unable to account to the Old Boys Association.
He also revealed that part of the money for Alfred Sankoh who is playing in Norway and Mustapha Bangura in Cyprus cannot be accounted for uptil now.
This is the reason why the team for the past three years the team has been fighting relegation as all monies belonging to the club has been unaccounted for by the former executive. He also mentioned that the interim executive will work alongside the Team Manager of the club to make sure that the team achieves its goals and objectives.
He also disclosed that two former executive members of the club AlGassimu Barrie who was the Secretary General and financial Secretary and the Welfare officer Mohamed Turay sent in their resignation letters to the Old Boys Association last week without all supporting documents of the club’s administration and finances.
The Old Boys Association has given them a week to handover all documents and equipments of the club to the interim body.
Osman also disclosed that the interim executive will meet today to strategize on the way forward as the club as the club is financially handicap to start the new season.
He also disclosed that the team will be doing some signings for the coming season and will off load about six players that ware not committed to the club.
