A commercial motorbike rental commonly called Okada riders Yusufu Mansaray is currently admitted at the government hospital in Koidu town in Kono district after robbers allegedly beat him up and stole his motorbike.
According to reports, a gang of robbers stationed themselves on the outskirts of the town, while one of them went to the center of the town and hired a bike to take him to his residence.
As they got to the point where his colleagues were hiding, he allegedly pretended to have dropped something, causing the bike rider to stop.
On disembarking the passenger immediately held on to the bike and his colleagues came out of hiding and beat up the rider until he went into a coma.
The robbers then fled with the bike.Police are presently investigating the matter.
This is not the first time for such incidents to occur.
Similar incidents have been occurring in the diamondiferous town of Tongo and Kono and in Kenema, which recently led to the loss of two lives.
