Seven victims of the Kissy Oil Refinery Fire Disaster Hospitalized at the Connaught hospital have absconded.
An update from the Hospital Care Manager, Connaught Hospital, Mr. Wasirie Turay on the current Oil Refinery Fire disaster victims hospitalized at the Connaught hospital revealed that seven from the 40 victims that were admitted at the Connaught hospital discharged themselves against medical advice.
According to independent investigations, the self discharged victims had planned among themselves to abscond for fear that they would be later charged to court and sent to the central Pademba Road Prison in Freetown.
Twenty three of the victims that were brought in alive in the hospital have died, and two discharged based on medical grounds.
There are now eight Survivors.
According to Specialists, 50 percent Burns and above, is described as very critical. The highest percentage among the seven absconded case is 35 percent, and the least victim with 12 percent.

Meanwhile, hospital sources say the medical conditions of those currently in admission in the hospital have been encouraging as they are all gradually improving.
