The Paramount Chief of Nongowa Chiefdom in Kenema district PC. Amara Bonya Vangahun on behalf of the people of Nongowa chiefdom has publicly expressed his loyalty and support to His Excellency the President Ernest Bai Koroma.
Speaking to the press at his Jabie street residence in Kenema, PC Amara Bonya Vangahun disclosed that as traditional leaders they are always ready to work and cooperate with the government of the day, stressing that President Ernest Bai Koroma has a very good vision for Sierra Leone and its people.
Therefore, he called on all to join hands with President Koroma for the development and progress of the country.
He called on the people of Nongowa chiefdom to pay their local taxes emphasizing that the native administration cannot undertake development programs without funds.
PC Amara Bonya Vangahun disclosed that plans are under way to continue the multi purpose Court Barray complex project and to undertake other development programs in the chiefdom.
He therefore urged all to pay their local taxes as mechanisms are now being put in place to embark on a massive local tax drive and that defaulters will have no alternatives but to face the full penalty of the law.
He called on all section chiefs, town chiefs, tribal heads, bondo heads and heads of institutions to actively participate in the local tax collection drive saying that development projects could be fast tracked in Nongowa chiefdom.
