The picture of the non-Speaker of Parliament which was hung among those of the former Speakers of Parliament has been removed.
It could be recalled that on Friday May 15, 2008, this Newspaper ran a front page story titled: A non- Speaker picture hung among Speakers.
The story was that a picture of a Member of Parliament, Hon Victoria Saidu Kamara was hung among former Speakers, Percy Davies, S.M.F Kutubu and Edmund Cowan in the lounge of Parliament Building.
The MP is among other MPs representing the Sierra Leone Parliament to the ECOWAS Parliament and she is the present deputy Speaker replacing Hon Elizabeth Lavalie at the ECOWAS Parliament.
Her picture, according to sources was not supposed to have been hung among the former Speakers. No other person’s picture, not even that of the former deputy Speaker; Hon Elizabeth Lavalie and the present, Hon Chukuma Johnson are hung in the lounge.
Nobody could comment as to why the picture of the MP was removed but there is the likelihood that it was as a result of this Papers’ story that it was removed.
