The President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Henry Moore would depart the shores of Freetown tomorrow to attend the General Assembly of the Commonwealth Games Federation slated for the 17-20 November 2008 in Banjul, the Gambia.
The President stated that the General Assembly is a meeting of all Commonwealth Games Association (CGA), which is about seventy-one (71) in number, with the Head of the Association based in England.
In order to host such an event, the host nation must ensure that the facilities available are up to standard.
Several issues would be discussed, amongst which are the report issued by the Executive Board; a Marketing Seminar, to be followed by a Games Team Planning Seminar.
He noted that for Sierra Leone to host such a meeting, the Government and private companies need to come on board to provide the necessary funding.
NOC President, Moore said that the relationship between the Gambia NOC and Sierra Leone is very cordial as they have many things in common.
