The National Olympic Committee in the first time in the history of NOC since their formation in 1964 have appointed a media officers that will be part of the executive for the next four years.
The appointment of these media officers is to make the National Olympic Committee (NOC) this around become more vibrate that why the executive wasted no time in their first meeting last week to appoint two media officers that will be in charge of the media wing at the National Olympic Committee (NOC)
Speaking about the appointment of the two media officers the President Henry Moore said that over the past years NOC was not having their own media wing which create a lot of problems for them from the public and some of the sports disciplining thinking that the NOC was not doing anything
And that does not go down well with the executive of NOC that why after the election after I have retained the presidency I decided to bring two renowned sports journalists in the country on board Bernard Turay from the Awoko newspaper as the Public Relation officer(1)
While Lansana Claye of Radio Kalleone as the Public Relation Officer (2) these who media officers with coordinate with the other sports journalists in country to make sure that every corner of the country know want the National Olympic Committee (NOC) activities
President Moore went further that over the years they were working with the media officer at the National Sports Council who was serving also as their own media that does not yield enough fruit
As that particular individual pay more attention to the National Sports Council. He mention that with the two media officers the National Olympic Committee will leave up to expectation
He also disclosed that this time around sports journalists in the country will not be left behind as they have been priority in the list of NOC.
He went further to disclosed that the executive will do every thing possible to make sure that organized a locally course for the sports journalists before thinking of started attending internationally ones.
Also the woman representative at the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Pamela Williams in his own contribution said that appointing Bernard and Claye as the media officers they will produce the needed result as they have respect among their colleagues for the manner in which they do things
She appeal to the other sports journalists to come on board as they too have a vital role to play in the National Olympic Committee (NOC)
