Old Edwardians Football Club last Wednesday became the first Premiership side to benefit from donations by the National Olympic Committee (NOC).
The NOC has been donating sporting equipments to Communities, Sporting associations, and football clubs in the country.
NOC President Henry G Moore said Old Edwardians Football Club were the first premier team to request for sporting equipments and he wasted no time to grant them their request because it was a genuine one.
He said that went the request was made he went through the list but as a football team the only thing they can assist them with is footballs, whistles and hand pump.
He maintained that if other sporting equipments like football boots, and other football sports equipments were available they would be very happy to donate them.
Receiving the 6 footballs, 2 whistlers and 2 hand pumps on behalf of the club, acting Secretary General Austin Thomas said that he was happy with the donation and appealed to the NOC executive not to relent in assisting them in whatever way they can if the resources are available for the development of sports in the country.
He assured the NOC President that the items will be used for the development of the team. He disclosed stated that since they took over as interim executive the NOC has been the first institution to donate sporting equipments to the club for which they as an executive were happy for the gesture.
It is a sign he said that you have the team at heart and we are looking forward to the NOC for other assistance in the coming years.
