The National Olympic Committee (NOC) has donated some sporting equipments to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School at Kissy Dockyard in Freetown.
Prior to the presentation, the NOC President Henry Moore said that the NOC has made similar donations to other schools and institutions in the country.
He said that the aim is to developed sporting activities in the country and therefore appealed to these institutions and schools to use these equipments for the intending purpose.
Receiving the equipments on behalf of the school, the head of department Physical and Health Education, Musa Emmanuel Mansaray said that these equipments would be used by students who are gifted in sporting disciplines.
He pointed out that Ahmadiyya School is one such institution that has produced some of the best athletes in different sporting disciplines in the country.
The equipments, he said, will also be a motivating factor for students to put more effort to their training exercises.
He also thanks the NOC president Henry Moore for the donation and assured him that these equipments would be well secured.
Some of the equipments donated are six (6) Footballs, four (4) Volleyballs, four (4) Basketballs, Four (4) Handballs, one (1) set table tennis, twenty – four (24) volley ball nets, Two (2) basketball nets, two (2) Whistles and one (1) stop watch.
