At meeting held yesterday with the press at the NOC Secretariat, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) president Henry Moore cleared the air over Emric Cole leadership. He said it was not a one-man decision but one that was decided by ten presidents of different sporting disciplines under the NOC.
He said the decision by the NOC to to solve the impasse was the request made by both parties and stakeholders in the athletics family after the ministry of Youth and Sports had failed to solve the matter.
President Moore went further that they would be informing the IAAF, the ministry of Education Youth and Sports today about the decision taken by the ten presidents of different sporting disciplines.
The Vice President of the association, Patrick Coker, said the NOC had all the right to intervene on the matter as most people including stakeholders had earlier blamed the NOC for failing to resolve the matter
“We in the NOC have nothing against an individual, it is left with the association to decide who they want. That is not the responsibility of NOC to decide on that,” he concluded.
