Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The Executive Members of the National Olympic Committee/ Commonwealth Games Association of Sierra Leone (NOC/CGA-SLE) are set to convene their Annual General Meeting today, Saturday, January 15, 2024, at the Country Lodge Hotel in Hill Station.
This year’s gathering holds particular significance as it marks the first Annual General Meeting under the leadership of NOC President Prince Suallay. The executive members will present reports to the membership, reflecting on their one year in office, outlining plans for the upcoming year, and addressing preparations for the forthcoming games.
The meeting gains added importance with the inclusion of five new sports—Baseball/softball, cricket (T20), flag football, lacrosse (sixes), and squash—officially added to the program for the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 (LA28). This decision, made during the 141st Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is expected to bring more participants and discussions to this NOC’s Annual General Assembly.
NOC President Prince Suallay is expected to make a statement during the meeting, providing insights into the organization’s achievements, challenges, and future plans. The Annual General Meeting serves as a platform for open dialogue and collaboration among NOC/CGA-SLE members as they collectively contribute to the advancement of sports in Sierra Leone. BT/13/1/2024
