The National Olympic Committee (NOC) has given a boost to one of the renowned Secondary Schools in the Country, the Annie Walsh Memorial School, by donating sporting equipments to the school.
The President for the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Henry Moore said during the last two months, several schools and institutions have received sporting equipments from them.
He said that the NOC is doing its best to make sure that those who apply for equipments receive them, unless in the case where the equipments have been exhausted.
The NOC President said that apart from the equipments donated to these institutions and School Coaches of various sporting disciplines in the Country, they have also benefited from overseas coaching courses held in Budapest, Hungary and other local coaching courses in the Country.
He mentioned the names of coaches like Sonny Johnson, Abubakarr Sesay, Augusta James Teima, John Bobson Taylor, Alie Bangura and Alphan Coker all of whom have benefited from coaching courses. He stressed that almost all the sporting associations have benefited from local coaching courses held in the Country.
The equipments donated to the Annie Walsh Secondary School were six (6) Volleyballs; six (6) Basketballs; two (2) Hand pumps; one (1) pair Volleyball net and one (1) pair Basketball net.
In another development, Faith Baptist Mission Primary School have also benefited from sporting equipments donated by NOC.
