The Network Movement for Justice and Development has ended a three-day capacity-building workshop for the Kenema District Youth Executive of Coalition of Youth groups (CYG) with participants drawn from youth groups from Tunkia, Small Bo, Dama, Gaura, Lower Bambara, Nongowa, Kandu Leppiama and Simbaru chiefdoms.
The Programme Manager, Sia Shirley Simbo appealed to participants to be law-abiding in their localities and prove to all that today’s youth were a new kind poised to help develop their communities. She said much was expected of today’s generation and appealed to all youth groups in all the chiefdoms to support their chiefdoms and district executive.Speaking to youth leaders NMJD Animator, Denis Lansana reminded that they were representatives of various youth groups admonishing them to take the training very seriously as what ever they did and learned would help their groups. At the end of the training the executive developed an advocacy agenda that should be used in the next two years to engage the authorities in addressing youth concerns.
