The Regional Director of Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD) Beny Sam has described last year’s activities of the Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) as a white bag of success. Beny Sam told the press that though the organizations experienced it up and down in the closing days of last year, it did not however slow down their impressive achievement.
The NMJD Regional Director Beny Sam paraphrased Mathew Luther King Jr. saying that if one must run if he can not walk, or walk if he can not run but keep moving on towards your goal.
He stressed that Network Movement for Justice and Development was able to put together series of developmental programmes at the national and local levels which were of tremendous input to the national development agenda. Since the setting up of the Network Movement for Justice and Development some 20years ago, the organization has been able to put together series of programmes answering to the needs of various communities and society.
Currently NMJD are implementing four core projects country wide. These projects include Governance and Accountability, Mining and Extra peaceful security, Youth empowerment programme which includes skills training for the physically challenged, HIV/AIDS sensitization and the coalition of youths groups in both Kenema and Kono districts in the east of the country. The youth empowerment programme initiated by NMJD has particularly enabled the youths in the district and the city councils to contribute huge community development initiatives Beny Sam emphasized.
He discussed the allegation by other organizations that NMJD is transforming people into empty thugs stating that the NGO is empowering people instead of transforming them.
The Regional Director expressed profound thanks and appreciation on behalf of NMJD to all Institutions, individuals and their other partners in progress for joining them as a concerned effort to bring and maintain good governance for the development of the nations for all benefit.
