Nigeria’s Cricket team yesterday retained the North/West Africa cricket title for the second consecutive time in a row when they defeated the Sierra Leone cricket team.
Sierra Leone’s hope of winning the second edition of the North-West Africa cricket tournament dampened when they met a Nigerian team that had no intention of losing the trophy and with a determination to maintain their position in the region.
Speaking to Awoko Sports the Public Relations Officer of the association Alieu Bockarie said that the Sierra Leone team did everything possible to win the trophy but accused the Gambian umpire of being biased in his decisions.
Nigeria scored 142 runs for 9 in 41 overs, while Sierra leone was 141 all out in 23 overs with Abubakarr Kamara scoring the highest runs of 38 followed by Luseni Senesie who made 20 runs.
