Out of the four Halls at the Milton Margai College of Science and Technology Newland Hall which is red has emerged as this year’s champion with 234 points after the two days athletic meeting at the Milton Margi College playing field at Goderich.
In second position was Brookfields Hall which is green with 224 points and in third position was Congo Cross Hall which is Blue with 194 points, while Goderich Hall which is yellow came fourth with 193 points.
In the 100 meters for women, it was a win for Precious Amara of Brookfields Hall with a time of 14.28 secs. In second position was Zainab Y. Sheriff of Congo Cross Hall with a time of 14.29 secs and in third position was Abigail S. Cole of Newland Hall.
In the men 100 meters it was a win for Solomon Kambay of Brookfields Hall with a time of 12.16 secs and in second position was Amara Musa of Congo Cross Hall with a time of 12.60 secs. In third position was Joseph Johnny of Goderich hall with a time of 14.13 secs.
In the Discuss women it was a win for Kadiatu Conteh of Newland Hall while in second position was Elizabeth French of Congo Cross Hall.
In the Shot Put for Women it was a win for Elizabeth French of Congo Cross Hall while in second position was Fasiq L. Tucker of Goderich Hall.
In the 4×100 meters relay for women it was a win for Brookfields Hall with a time of 59.90 secs, trailed in second position by Congo Cross Hall with a time of 60.17 secs and in third position was Newland Hall with a time of 61.72 secs.
In the men category it was a win for Newland with a time of 48.28 secs, in second position was Broofields Hall with a time of 49.89 secs while Goderich Hall was third with a time of 50.16 secs.
The guest of honour who was the deputy Minister of Education Youth and Sports Algassimu Jah before handing over the championship trophy to Newland Hall said that the Milton Margai sports meeting is always the best as the students always put on good manners throughout the sports meeting.
He said in this year sports meeting there is no loser as all the athletes were able to perform up to standard during the two days meeting.
