On the recommendation of the National Commission for Privatization (NCP), the Sierra Leone Roads Authority’s Board has nominated three people to fill three vacant positions at the authority.
Mr Munda Rogers, who was director of operations, will act as director general whilst David Fornie who was director of Feeder Roads replaces A.D.E Jackson as deputy director general.
Similarly, the director of Development and Planning who too was due for retirement will be replaced by Sahr Dugba, former chief engineer.
Abdul Aziz Kamara takes over as director of Operations whilst the chief regional engineer Makeni, Mack A. Jusu ascends as director of Feeder Roads.
These appointments are due to take effect this week and it has already gained popular support from staff of SLRA.
These appointments were made contrary to press reports that appointments have been made on the sole decision of the SLRA board chaired by Julius Tommy.
It will be recalled that the out-going director general Ishmael Kebbay was reputed to have said that in 2003 SLRA was added to the first schedule of privatization Act 2002. This means that SLRA is only now responsible to NCP and not the ministry of Works.
