As the ongoing cocaine trial continues at the high court, the first accused George Aritistizabele Archida had drawn the attention of his defense counsel to the inappropriate translations of the court proceedings by Moses H Kamara from Spanish to English.
The accused are displeased and therefore want a change. Defense lawyer M.S. Turay had made a submission to the court to hire the services of another interpreter. However, Mr Tommy Taylor a competent linguist of long standing experience had been hired already.
As usual six other prosecution witnesses appeared in court they were: Robert Magabe Conteh, Mohamed Olando Sesay, Mohamed Kamara and George Brima, all of them had their testimonies explained and a thorough cross-examination was made by the defense.
Meanwhile Alie Nyelenkeh the aviation security officer who had previously testified, was also produced in court to clarify certain entries in the official diary of the airport. The defense team had pointed out many inconsistencies in the diary in their attempt to make the record completely invalid.
Many more witnesses are to testify in the coming days.
