A new students’ union administration has taken over at the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology, Congo Cross campus.
Handing over the baton of office to the new president, Desmond Yarjoh encouraged his successor Abu Bakar S. Turay to work diligently in the interest of students’ unionism.
He called on him to discharge his duties without “campism” but to promote the spirit of oneness to all students.
The new students’ union president, Abu Bakar S. Turay, highlighted his government’s aims and objectives while stressing on building a good working relationship among the general students’ body and the administration.
He urged students to utilize a large percentage of their time on their academic work and to pay less attention to “campism” which divided students’ solidarity.
Also at the handing over ceremony was the registrar of the college Mr Bangura, a lecturer Mr Bundu who spoke about the significance of students’ unionism and a senior lecturer Victor Hugo Kamara who emphasized about solidarity to the students.
The new students’ union executive comprises the president serving as the Governor for Congo Cross campus, deputy Abibatu Kargbo, Joseph S. Denis as secretary general, Zainab Tina Fofana as financial secretary, Hulaimatu Bangura Education minister, Francis Nwokelo information, Manso Kamara social welfare, Dephon Olu Johnson works, Gary S.Waritay foreign Affairs, Mohamed J.S Tholley health and Moses Tommy canteen manager.
