The head of the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) in the NEPAD Secretariat Professor Mkandawire has commended Sierra Leone for taking the lead in the implementation of CAADP in Sierra Leone.
During a presentation ceremony of a draft copy of the CAADP implementation Communication Strategy he said CAADP was highly impressed by the presentation to an extent that he had no option but to commend the Communication Committee for a marvelous job done
Prof. Mkandawire also stated that with such expertise available in the country there is a dire need for the establishment of a communication hub where the public both at local and international levels could access information about the country’s agricultural activities. The ceremony was witnessed by the Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security; Dr. Sam Sesay, Augelline Rudakubana of the CCADP Communication Unit and Samira Hotobah-During from the Forum for Agricultural Research for Africa (FARA).
The other two members of the CAADP visiting team shared similar sentiments with Prof. Richard Mkandawire.Samira Hotobah-During recommended that the country develops a data base system to communicate to the public about the kind of crop that is suitable for a particular area.
