Hundreds of residents in Kenema city gather as early as 5pm every day to join queues at the only two commercial internet cafés in Kenema city, just in time to browse the official website of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) for the presidential run-off results.
Those who are not computer literates are always seen glued to their radios to get the results from Dr Christiana Thorpe’s mouth, while waiting for those from the internet cafés to get the printed figures.
This has been the usual happenings since the August 11 presidential and parliamentary elections, which culminated in the September 8 presidential run-off. Tensions have been mounting in Kenema as to who is going to be the next president of Sierra Leone.
