The Chairperson of the National Electoral Commission and the National Returning Officer Christiana Thorpe has officially announced results of the just ended bye election for Ward 323 in the Pujehun District and Ward 174 Port Loko district at the SLBS TV New England Ville in Freetown. Christiana Thorpe said the National Electoral Commission conducted local council bye-election due to vacancies in both wards respectively following official reports by the Chief Administrators of both councils on the deaths of respective substantive elected councilors -the late Alhaji Alieu A. B. Feika and the late Sulaiman B. Kamara in December 2008. .The National Returning Officer under section 84 subsections 4 of the Electoral Laws Act 2002 and section 4, subsection 4 of the national electoral commission Local Government Election regulations 2008 declared Kallon Amara Samba as winner with 687 votes for ward 323 and Kamra Sullay Potho with 838 votes as winner for ward 174
