The National Council for Technical, Vocational and other Academic Awards (NCTVA), has issued a 21 days notice to the Chairman of the NCTVA concerning several issues of concern to them, ranging from staff welfare and the general conditions of service and are demanding immediate actions for the upgrading of their status.
The release asserted that if the workers’ concerns are not addressed on or before the 21st March 2012, they shall institute “an indefinite industrial action” as the only legitimate and ultimate means in seeking redress. These issues of concern include, condition of service (structured), leave allowance, medical, annual rent allowance and transportation, appointment letters, full payment of accrued leave allowance, salary increment of 100%, staff job description and roles, full payment of accrued NASSIT payments, income tax payments and monthly salary advice.
