The President of Sierra Leone Roll Ball and Speed Skating Association, Noel Williams, and his executive have disclosed that the National Roll Ball Championship will take place in May this year.
According to Williams, last year they were unable to play the championship because of the COVID-19 pandemic, “but for this year we are expecting the competition to play.”
He added: “We are calling all teams to prepare for the competition ahead. In the national championship that is the place where technical teams in the association identify players for national assignments like the Roll Ball World Cup, African Championship, and the Gold Cup.”
He also said this championship has helped the association to so far identify young stars ready to play the sport.
Meanwhile, the association is calling on the National Sports Authority (NSA), the Ministry of Sports and business houses who will be key sponsors of this year’s competition to come onboard to support the association during the championship.
