The National cricket team is expected to present their second place trophy to the minister of Education Youth and Sports (1) Algassimu Jah at his Bishop House Office at the National Stadium in Freetown.
The Public Relations Officer of the association Bockarie Allieu said they are not just going to present a runners- up trophy from the just division three cricket competition in Malawi, but they are also going to explain to the minister that their runners up position have given them associate status which is a big achievement for the country.
He said this has been the dream of the association over the past years which they have finally accomplished last week in Malawi
He also disclosed that the team will now join the other associate members in South Africa next year in the division two World Cricket League.
He also revealed that for Sierra Leone to become an associate member they are bound to gain a lot from the International Cricket Council (ICC) but is now left with government to ensure that the country has two outstanding ovals where international matches will be played.
