The National Accountability Group (NAG) has ended a two-day training session with Civil Society groups, Media Practitioners, councilors and other stakeholders in Kenema district at the Youth Sport Club hall along Mahei Vangahun road in Kenema city.
In his statement the programme officer National Accountability Group (NAG) Abubakarr Kamara says the training is designed to build up the capacities of the various stakeholders on the national budget process for them to be able to address issues that might be lacking and finally to make amendments where necessary. Mr. Kamara emphasized that the roles of the civil society, the media and other stakeholders in the entire process is important and vital as they still represent the direct view of the people in the society. Giving a brief background of the National Accountability Group (NAG), one of the facilitators Edmond Koroma of NAG says, NAG was formed in 2004 to ensure transparency and accountability among state actors in the interest of the nation.
