The National AIDS Council (NAC) will meet today at State House under the chairmanship of Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma. The theme of the meeting is: “Challenges towards universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support”. The meeting aims to highlight the achievements made in the ongoing campaign, the available opportunities and the challenges that are confronting us. The year 2010 has been declared as a year of achieving Universal Access to HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment care and service Governments all over the world are taking stock of what they have been doing over the years, the gains, and what is the way forward.
The National HIV and AIDS Secretariat and its partners, continue to appreciate the commitment of the Government towards achieving universal access, which has been manifested in diverse ways. Various reports have been compiled to be delivered to President Koroma during the council meeting.
