The vice chairlady of the Federation of Muslim Women in Sierra Leone (FOMUWOSAL) eastern province, Haja Kadiatu Bawoh, has called on her Muslim sisters to work together to improve their organization’s status. This appealed was made in an interview with pressmen in which she disclosed that their association had its membership in 82 mosques in the region. She identified Daru and Segbwema in the Jawei and Kailahun chiefdoms, Kailahun district, among others where they had established their branches. Adding that “it [the organization] is geared towards the development of Islam,” and called on the Muslim community to embrace the organization. The vice chairlady disclosed that the agricultural activities and the skill training programmes undertaken by their organization had almost come to a standstill due to lack of finance to pay tutors. She then appealed to the government and Non Governmental Organizations to come to their aid.
