SIERRA LEONE, Makeni – Following East End Lions Football Club’s announcement on the signing of young forward Sulaiman S. Kargbo from Sahid Conteh-U Football Club in Makeni, supporters of his former club Wusum Stars have been expressing numerous concerns about the deal.
According to the fans, they are shocked that the player who had an impressive form in last season’s Sierra Leone Premier League while on a year-long loan to Wusum Stars would snub inking a deal with his home side which they believed has succeeded in the player’s development only to sign with rivals East End Lions Football Club.
Similarly, the management of Wusum Stars has also expressed their dismay over the player’s snub saying “we’re shocked to note that a player we’ve partially developed and was due to sign before the start of this season after his successful 12 months loan stint but his manager of his parent club Sahid Conteh-U has been reluctant to heed to our interest.
“He will remain one of us and wish him well in his new club,” they maintained.
Meanwhile, Kargbo, the second highest goal scorer of Wusum Stars Football Club last season behind Alimamy Buya Kamara in the national men’s top-tier, will don the East End Lions jersey for 24 months despite his transfer fees remaining undisclosed.
