Hon Nurudeen Sankoh Yilla on Friday visited the Ginger Hall Community Health Center to observe the ongoing one week ‘mami en pikin welbodi programme’.
He was welcomed by the community health officers who explained the programme and was taken on a conducted tour..
Speaking to the Health officers, pregnant women and suckling mothers, Hon Nurudeen cautioned the pregnant women and suckling mothers to take good care of their babies and to ensure that hand washing was an ingredient of good health.
He also cautioned them not to go near ‘pepe doctas’ and encouraged them to be visiting the Health Centers. He therefore lauded the efforts of the health officers for their courage in assisting humanity.
The community Health Officer for the Ginger Hall Community Center, Mustapha Kamara while thanking the MP for his concern and love for the community explained that the one week programme was about sensitizing communities about marklate, HIV/AIDS counseling and testing and ante-natal issues as well as house to house campaign on vitamin A, Polio and worm treatments.
On Thursday, the APC Western Area Parliamentary caucus paid a solidarity visit to fire victims at Kolleh Town. Fire destroyed some houses last week which claimed the lives of two children, aged 5 and 8 years. The MPs gave modest cash donations to the affected people.
