The Member of Parliament representing the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in Constituency 14 in Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema District, Hon Francis Konuwa on Tuesday 3rd April 2011, has launched a Le28 million project in Panguma Town aimed at supporting Bondo society women in Panguma and its environs.
In his address at the community centre in Panguma, Hon Francis Konuwa said the project for erecting the perimeter fence for the Bondo society premises at Panguma town is part of his fulfillment of promises made to the people in that area during his political campaign.
Hon Konuwa called on the beneficiaries of the project and local authorities in Panguma and its environs to monitor and fast-track the implementation of the project, and appealed to youths in the community to provide labour for the construction of the perimeter fence.
He disclosed that part of his short term development plan is to support underprivileged business women in the chiefdom.
In his statement, the SLPP Constituency Chairman in the Chiefdom, Alphonsus Komeh, stressed on the importance of unity among the people of Lower Bambara Chiefdom.
The Senior Section Chief of Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Patrick Komeh on behalf of his colleague Chiefs, SLPP District Chairman, Arthur Koroma and the Chiefdom Speaker Amara Gandoh made meaningful contributions at the ceremony.
The turning of the sod for the construction of the perimeter fence was done by Dr. Bernadette Lahai, SLPP Parliamentarian representing Constituency 13.
