Mount Aureol SLIFA is in Bo Town to play two matches as part of their preparation for the forthcoming Mayor’s Cup in Las Vegas, United States of America slated for next month.The team is expected to play the two Premier League teams in the Southern region: Nepean Stars and Bo Rangers. Over the weekend the team will be in Lungi to play other Friendly matches.
The Head Coach, Junior Konneh said “These friendly matches will help to put the team in a good shape for the tournament. It will also help the Technical Team to select the players ahead of the competition”.
He also stated that the matches are very important as they cannot only depend on training sessions. “It will help them to identify their weaknesses before the tournament as we want to create a serious impact during the tournament”.
Coach Konneh stated that he has already identified some of the players that will be part of the squad for the tournament. “This is a well experienced squad. We have few new players who were not in the squad when we traveled to Bulgaria and Turkey. “
“Our main aim is to win the tournament which I know will be difficult but we need to know who our opponents are and their strength and from that point we can know whether or not we can challenge them for the title.” Konneh said.
