Mohamed Kallon one of Sierra Leone’s outstanding player that is know locally and Internationally because of his football ability on Saturday at Old Skool Complex officially launched his biography titled ‘The Gem of Sierra Leone’, The Mohamed Kallon Children foundation and Moe tea premium blend.
Launching the foundation Mohamed Kallon said he had compelling urge, sleepless but thoughtful nights about what should be done to help children living in the streets of Freetown.
He also stated that seeing children in the streets of Freetown is a re-visualization of his moments in the streets.
Unable to bear the pains and endure the sleepless nights, he summoned two former Leone stars players Ibrahim Bah, and Vannie Bockarie to explain to them the dream he has for the children of Sierra Leone
Upon the advice they gave him he knew that he would need funds to run the foundation and decided to launch the Moe Tea and the Biography. The proposed project will include fostering children as their short term goals. .
The Moe tea is a premium tea, which captures the essence of morning freshness from the exotic tea garden and meticulously blends it to stimulate excellent taste on your taste bud. It also has an excellent taste. The sale of Moe tea will go with a raffle draw at the end of the promotion.
The Kalleone Group Company (KGC) will also give back to those who contributed to the foundation a Hummer jeep, Porsche jeep and a Plasma TV in December in a grand fund raising drive for the foundation.
Part of the biography stated that he was born on 6 October 1979 in the provincial district town of kenema in Eastern sierra Leone. He is the most exposed and internationally recognized player Sierra Leone has ever had for the past two decade.
His football prowess has seen him travel to various parts of the world ,representing at club level inter Milan ,Monaco amongst others and inevitably the national team Leone stars both as an ordinary team member and a team captain until he resigned in October 28 as captain.
Few years ago, kallon established the Kalleone group of companies (KGC) in Freetown. He had two things in mind during the incubating years of the company to respond to the clamor for job creation for youths and to invest meaningfully in a country that was ravaged by war.
Kalleone Group of company has four Trustees Vannie Bockarie, Ibrahim Bah, Camellia Megan Bah and John Conteh. The company can boast of renowned patrons like George Weah of Liberia one time African footballer and European player of the year, Akie Noah, Brima Mazzola Kamara, Nwankwo Kanu, Captain of Nigeria’s football team The Super Eagles Obafemi Martins also of Nigeria and Emmanuel Adebayor a player of the Togo football team.
