Mohamed Bowen Freeman who is the SLFA’s National Safety and Security Officer and CAF’s Safety and Security Officer has said that he received an email yesterday, Thursday 4th February, morning from CAF’s Head of Security, Dr. Christian, that he has been appointed to take over security responsibilities at the CAF WAFU ‘A’ tournament in Senegal.
Freeman said he is happy for the appointment because “it shows that there is no vain sacrifice, and hard work pays. This is also a landmark to show that I am the first Sierra Leonean to be appointed as a Safety and Security Officer in a CAF/WAFU organised tournament.”
He will be leaving on Saturday 6th February 2021 for the tournament.
In another development, the SLFA’s General Secretary Christopher Kamara has also been appointed by the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone A) to serve on the Disciplinary Committee of the U17 AFCON tournament set to be hosted in Senegal from today, Friday 5th February to Saturday 13th February 2021.
Kamara has been officially invited to join his colleague committee members in Senegal to witness the tournament and provide oversight on disciplinary matters relating to the AFCON U17 qualifiers.
