Miss West Africa sub-regional UK, Kadiatu Kamara has declared her intention to establish a fashion school in Sierra Leone.
The Sierra Leonean British based model recently disclosed to Awoko that the fashion school which she dubbed ‘Fashion for Life’ is meant for drop out girls and those who have never darkened the corridors of formal education.
Kadiatu explained that at ‘Fashion for Life’ students will be taught designing, photography, modeling and how to make jewelries.
She explained that the essence of the school is to tap out the innate creative talent of the girl who might not be opportuned to get formal education.
Kadiatu disclosed that on 9th May she will be collaborating with Cat Walk the World on a fund raising event. She called on all Sierra Leoneans to nurture this brain child of hers “all I have is myself and my dream. Sierra Leoneans lets come together and make this dream a reality,” she appealed. Karl Humper Jr of the Sierra Leone Music TV fame (SLMTV) an America based website welcomed the idea and expressed his support. “People need to go off the idea that if you are not formally educated there is nothing else you can do,” he said.
