Mr Abu Bangura one of the coordinators of the Presidential Transition team yesterday disclosed at State House that the outgoing government ministers had submitted their handing over notes to the team.
The coordinator said that they have finished the field work and that they have submitted a first preliminary status report to Vice President Sam Sumana who is the chair of the team. Bangura stressed that it is not an audit nor an investigation but to prepare a status report of all government ministries and departments.
He posited that the first status draft submitted to the Vice President is not the final report it is an interim report, adding that, “we are still receiving documents from government ministries and departments”.
The coordinator maintained that the status report is not for the public but internal use and that the public will be informed accordingly. He added that as a government we need to plan and this status report will help the newly elected ministers and heads of departments to do effective planning.
This report he said will not affect the work of the new government officials but will help them because they will know exactly what will be available in these ministries and departments.
He disclosed that all newly elected government ministers and heads of departments will receive the final status report before they take over.
