The Resident minister of Eastern Region Hon. William Smith has stated that the APC Party has much concern in football in the country. He was speaking at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Extraordinary
Annual Congress in Kenema.
“The President has so much concern in the country’s low rating in world football ranking and the government is putting modalities in place to promote the game,” he said.
He advised the Kenema populace to embrace football and take it seriously as the district had produced good footballers and is still doing so.
“Football brings money, it provides job opportunities for youths and it helps to develop the country,” he said, adding that Kenema residents should encourage football especially their town team, Kamboi Eagles.
On behalf of SLFA, Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay aka Awoko said with political will, football will progress in the country, adding that Sierra Leone has been making rapid progress in the world ranking.
