Following the recent disaster at the oil refinery which led to the death of 15 people and leaving several others badly burnt, donations poured in to assist the victims with drugs.
In one of the donations on Tuesday 24th, the Matron of the hospital, Dominga Sogie-Thomas pointed out that their major constraints were the lack of water and drugs.
She explained that the water Guma supplies to them is insufficient for the hospital and also they lacked storage facilities.
In response to that appeal, the General Manager of Milla Group (SL) LTD, Sony Ramakrishnan yesterday donated two 3,000 Litre water tanks to the Connaught hospital.
Delivering the tanks to the Matron, the General Manager said his organization was moved by the matron’s appeal and hoped that the tanks will be of immense benefit to the inmates of the hospital. Sony emphasized the importance of water at the hospital, a necessity at all times.
He called on the hospital authorities to make very good use of the tanks to help save lives at the hospital.
Receiving the tanks, the Matron appreciated the good gesture of Milla Group and also thanked them for thinking about the hospital, and the lack of water. “With these tanks, when Guma comes with water for us, it will help our immediate needs”, she added.
The Matron called on other people to emulate the good gesture of Milla Group as she assured that the tanks will be used for their intended purpose.
