Milla Group-Sierra Leone Limited yesterday donated plastic items to the National Disable Women’s Forum (NADWOF) at Fort Street in Freetown. The donation came following the Forum’s recent request to the company for assistance.
The donated items include: cups, plates, bowls, drinking buckets and other plastic items amounting to an undisclosed sum but said to be in millions of Leones.
Handing over the donated items, the Personnel Manager of Milla Group, Issa Kamara said the company is committed and determined to helping the needy in Sierra Leone as part of their corporate social responsibility. He said the donation demonstrates the company’s desire to assist the poor and marginalized in society.
Issa noted that Milla Group has assisted several communities in their operational area and the company also provides improved conditions of service.
Receiving the donation, the President of the National Disable Women’s Forum (NADWOF), Emma Turay expressed gratitude to Milla Group for the gesture.
She said the disable women’s forum was formed in 2005 to advocate against discrimination of women with disabilities in Sierra Leone.
