Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Mighty Blackpool, one of the country’s renowned premier league clubs, has made a significant move towards privatization by appointing an interim Management Committee chaired by Rodney Michael, effective immediately.
This decision was reached during a meeting held on September 28, 2023, involving the outgoing working committee, which was appointed on September 6, 2021. The fan club and the Heroes of Mighty Blackpool FC jointly tabled a motion to transform Mighty Blackpool FC into a privately-owned company limited by shareholders. The motion to privatize Mighty Blackpool FC was presented by the Fan Club executive to the Committee of Elders and was duly approved.
Consequently, the working committee that was originally tasked with managing the club, appointed on September 6, 2021, was dissolved, and an interim committee was established to oversee the transition.
